So last night we had an eventful night to say the least!!!! We put Callie down to bed and she was fussing a little bit (which is normal) so Tony and I went down stairs to make brownies for his work BBQ for the next day. All of the sudden I heard a HUGE thud, I went running upstairs, with Tony following right behind me. I didn't hear Callie crying, I flipped on her bedroom light to see the worst thing I have ever seen. Callie was standing outside of her crib, screaming at this point, with streams of blood just flowing down her little face! I couldn't believe it, I screamed too! I didn't know the extent if her injury yet, all I knew is that there was blood everywhere!
Tony grabbed toilet paper and held it on her head, as I was trying to look into her mouth because there was a pool of blood there too. I thought she might have hit her teeth again, but there was NO sign of injury there! As Tony pulled back the toilet paper, we could see that she had a cut on her forehead about 1/2 inch wide and pretty deep. Right then we knew that there was another Emergency Room visit in store for us~
So I called Lenna (Tony's Mom) and she met us at a meeting spot and checked out Callie and thought it would be best if we went to the ER too. (thanks Lenna for meeting us, I am not sure what I would do without Tony's and my Mom!) So we got to the ER and they took us right in, Yay, we were so grateful for that.
Our little Callie is a fighter, she wanted nothing to do with the Nurses there...... After much deliberation Tony and I thought it would be best if Callie's cut was glued together. It would be must less painful, quicker, and less traumatizing for everyone! So we mummy wrapped her up, and with 3 grown men holding her down and me, we got it done in about 3 minutes!
So now Callie has a huge bandage on her forehead to help her not pick or play with her glued forehead. I don't know what is next with this girl.....all I can do is find humor in it all!
Tony came to the rescue last night with his brilliant idea! (Pictures will be posted soon!) Callie is a fighter as I mentioned earlier, she is bound and determined not to stay in her crib. So Tony asked me, "do we have a large bed sheet?" and I said "yes!" So he got the sheet and tied it on top her her crib. Then zip tied it just to make sure it was secure. Callie did not like being contained!!!!! She was whaling and flailing all over the place! I was sitting on the floor outside of her bedroom door as Tony was looking into her room with the door cracked. After about 5 minutes of this, Tony turned to me and said, "Its like trying to tame a Bronco!" We both started to laugh so hard. It is so true, our little Callie is a pistol! I think her new nick name is Little Bronco! (For those of you that know our little Callie....you know what we are talking about!)
This little girl, so smart and determined. I love her outgoing and witty personality, but it has sure come with a high cost! I wouldn't change her in no way or form.....but she is sure giving us a run for our money....already! LOL

She didn't even mention the second time she jumped out the crib. Luckily nothing happened that time. That's when I resorted to desperate measures and tied the sheet to the crib!!
Have you heard of the mesh "tent covers" for cribs? She probaby wouldn't like that much either, but my nephew uses it and it works really well. POOR CALLIE! I can't believe it! It's like a new adventure each week! Hopefully she gets it out of her system and doesn't have any accidents when she's older. I'm so sorry you guys!
Oh my gosh! I would have freaked out too if I saw blood. I'm glad she is ok. She is one funny little girl!!!
