Ok so the last 4 months have been crazy with Callie's health! After January (and getting the upper GI) she had been on and off of the Gatorade diet (drinking only Gatorade) then we had to re introduce baby food and table food back her, which was a fun challenge :) Once that was accomplished we've tried to get her Milk Protein Allergy under control, but we haven't been successful....yet!
The Milk Allergy causes Callie to get the worse diaper rash (sometimes to the point that it bleeds), it is awful. She screams while we change her bum! We have been to the Dr. countless times for it and to the Allergist Dr. twice, and we haven't found a cure yet. Tony and I are to introduce dairy to Callie every 6 months to see how her body responds to it. But so far no luck....
Also in the last 4 months Callie has had 2 ear infections (one being really really bad), 2 yeast infections, RSV, and now this......................................
So last night Tony, Callie and I were over at my parents house for my sisters birthday dinner, we all just got done eating and Callie was running around and playing, when all of the sudden she fell forward as she was coming over to me.
She hit her mouth on my chair and started to scream. I picked her up and looked in her mouth and could see a little bit of blood, but it didn't look very bad.
So I just held her and said "its ok." I wanted to take anther look so i had her open her mouth and I was shocked at what I had seen! Her mouth was full of blood now and her upper gums were swollen and puffed of blood (like a blood blister)! I could only see 3 upper teeth there when I knew there was 4!
I said, "everyone her tooth is gone, start looking for it!" we all got down and started to look but we couldn't find it, then my mom said"no it is here!" (she didn't know that the 4th one was gone!)
We were all panicked, and didn't know what to do.
Thank goodness we have a great family dentist, Dr. Hamilton! We called him at his home and he said that he would meet us at his office in 10 minutes!
So my Mom, Tony, Callie and I rushed over to his office, where him and his wife, Anne met us. I laid in the dentist chair holding Callie and her arms, Tony was over me holding Callie's head still, my mom held Callie's lower body from flailing everywhere, and Dr. Hamilton held Callie's mouth open. He numbed her mouth with some gel first then gave her 2 shots. Callie is so strong, she is definitely a fighter, it took all 4 of us to hold her down and keep her still. As Dr. Hamilton was giving Callie the second shot she bit down on the needle.....she was really mad at this point!
After about 10 minutes of screaming/crying Dr. Hamilton was able to get Callie's front left tooth out from behind the front right tooth and got the left eye tooth out from her gums and brought it down to where it was originally. It was a miracle! I was so worried that he would have to pull her teeth out!
As for today, she is doing great! She is as happy as can be! She will every now and again, bite down, or touch her mouth and have this confused look on her face like, "what happened to me Mom?!?" And her face, inner lip and gums are really swollen, we have a check up appointment tomorrow to make sure that everything looks ok!
A huge thanks goes to my Mom for staying so calm and helping Tony and I out in that crazy situation, to my Dad and Sis for trying to cheer Callie up and for cleaning up dinner (especially you Angie: sorry you had to clean up your own birthday dinner!) and to Tony for being such a great daddy and making sure that Callie was ok! I couldn't have done it without all of you! I have such an amazing family and support system! I am so lucky! We love you guys!
I will try to get some pics of her and post them!
